A Certified Food Protection Manager, also known as the Person-in-Charge must be on-site when food is prepared or served. Most state public health departments, including Illinois, Wisconsin & Indiana require successful testing for a five year certification. The City of Chicago also requires this exam, after the 7 hour course, in order to process your licensing application. Certified Food Safety Programs provides several options for testing.
Choose either the ServSafe or National Registry of Food Service Professionals or Always Food Safe (AFS) national licensing exam. These tests comply with the ANSI Conference for Food Protection (CFP) requirements for the person-in-charge.
This exam is given at 1:00 p.m. The testing site is at VanBuren & State Streets. It is convenient to paid parking and public transportation.
