Get your Food Protection Manager Certification with this convenient licensing course. Certified Food Safety Programs will guide you through the process and proctor the test.  The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) approve the program  for the Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate (FSSMC) license.  In addition to Illinois, this program satisfies public health requirements in Wisconsin and Indiana – with the ANSI-CFP certified  ServSafe or Always Food Safe (AFS) examination that follows.

We send you a study guide once you register for your course. The guide contains the facts and figures you’ll need to know for the test. The on-line course provides video and activities. Practice the multiple choice questions in advance of the class. At the class, ask questions and practice more multiple choice questions. You will get a thorough review of food safety before taking the examination.

Location
The course meets at Tessserae Studios 5346 W Devon Ave in the Edgebrook neighborhood of Chicago. The address is a short walk from the Edgebrook Station of the Metra Fox Lake line, and within a mile of the Caldwell exit of Interstate 94. We begin at 7:30 a.m., and end with the proctored licensing examination at 3:30 p.m.

Choose to take the course with a computer or paper/pencil. The ServSafe or the Always Food Safe exam are offered. Both are certified by ANSI-CFP (American National Standards Institute – Council on Food Protection) – required by most state health departments(including Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana).  The City of Chicago Department of Public Health also requires this same course/test for Food Service Sanitation Manager Certificate (FSSMC) licensing.

Course Requirement
The food code in Illinois mandates the completion of an approved eight-hour program including the proctored licensing exam. This licensing course can be taken in-person or on-line. Many managers find it easier to attend a class in person to get ready for the licensing test. Taking the course and test in person costs less with Certified Food Safety Programs as well.
